Winter gear

Happy Monday everyone! In order to fight against coughs and colds, I have been upping my vitamin intake, wearing my pre- winter coats (the coats you want to wear in the winter, but simple are too thin), exchanged the fabrics of my scarfs and staying more in. Here are some of my favorites during the "inside season":

1) Tea (of course): at the moment the teas of Betjeman & Barton are equally appreciated as the Yogi teas.

2) Reading books: my fall list contains of thrillers, mindfulness and magazines (ok not really books, but some are quite huge).

3) Dinner and drinks with friends: the more the merrier. My favorite dishes are savory, filling and healthy dishes with loads of veggies. As for the drinks, I am a sucker for a nice glass of red or a cocktail.

4) Visiting museums: as the rain makes it less desirable to walk the street, it is nice to walk viewing art while chatting along with your favorite people.

5) Movies! Or series! Recently been visiting the theatre more often or simple watch a dvd from the home library and just relax.

6) Online shopping: never gets boring, is easy as it doesn't require facing the cold streets.

Paris diary

Happy Tuesday! This weekend I went to Paris as a present to myself and had a wonderful time (as always). As Fashion Week is ruling the city, there were plenty of exhibitions, cool people, food and things to do and watch: View from Centre Pompidou (and dinner), Alaia exhibition at re-openend Palais Galliera, Mona Lisa and Napoleon's apartment at the Louvre, crepes and shopping in Le Marais:

A day at the museum

Happy Monday! This weekend I visisted the exhibition of Edward Steichen at the FOAM museum in Amsterdam. His photographs of models, actresses and public figures are breathtaking and powerful and could have been shot yesterday.

Edward Jean Steichen (March 27, 1879 – March 25, 1973) was an American photographer, painter, and art gallery and museum curator. His photos of gowns for the magazine Art et Décoration in 1911 are regarded as the first modern fashion photographs ever published. From 1923 to 1938, Steichen was a photographer for the Condé Nast magazines Vogue and Vanity Fair.  Source wikipedia

Exhibit

Happy Monday! Hope your weekend was wonderful! Mine was pretty good, with a trip to Groningen, one of the Dutch provinces that lies approximately 2.5-3 hours away from Amsterdam. I took the train with my sister, as we had discounted tickets and could used them in any destination within the country. We decided to visit the Groninger museum that currently has an exhibition on Iris van Herpen. She worked for Alexander McQueen in the past and it shows: amazing craftsmanship, futuristic, symmetric and feminine. We had a blast going through these creations. The weekend ended on a more sour note: the Dutch football team didn't make it to the quarter finals :(.
