A day at the museum

Happy Monday! This weekend I visisted the exhibition of Edward Steichen at the FOAM museum in Amsterdam. His photographs of models, actresses and public figures are breathtaking and powerful and could have been shot yesterday.

Edward Jean Steichen (March 27, 1879 – March 25, 1973) was an American photographer, painter, and art gallery and museum curator. His photos of gowns for the magazine Art et Décoration in 1911 are regarded as the first modern fashion photographs ever published. From 1923 to 1938, Steichen was a photographer for the Condé Nast magazines Vogue and Vanity Fair.  Source wikipedia

Blankets off

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you had a nice workweek and are ready for the weekend! This week was super cold again, so I almost put a blanket around my neck to keep me warm outside, but figured that as I am not touring around for fashion weeks, it must look ridiculous. Instead I tried to walk around with hot beverages which also looks super chic (and less dramatic). I am hoping for a nice sunny weekend, so I can walk around the beautiful city. Have a wonderful weekend!

Say Grace

This week started of with the search for the perfect Christmas presents and am happy to report that orders have been placed. Also for myself....yes, I ordered a gift just for me and it´s already here(!): Grace Coddington´s Memoirs. The book looks like you are about to enter this fairytale world which will be never ending. I haven´t had the chance to start reading, but can´t wait for a day on the couch (or bed) and wander off and know her story. Have a great weekend! xoxo

Friday, 10 August 2012

Happy Friday everyone! I am so glad to say that, this week has been extremely busy and on top of that, I started to feel a bit exhausted (caught a cold) and went into survival mode (OK, I am being a bit over-dramatic, but that´s how experienced this week). Am looking forward to some extra sleep, reading the September issue of Vogue UK and see my friends! O and the weather looks promising, so loads of sun to catch! Enjoy :)

Happy Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Sorry for taking such a long weekend nap, but I am back and the workweek has started once again! It was great to have 4 days off in a row. The sun was occasionally shining, so I made sure I got enough sun, did some shopping for the apartment ( I was siting at a dining chair at my desk, so now I finally bought a normal office chair), had a 30th birthday of my dear friend, enjoyed some wine, did some yoga (after being a no show for two months) and chilled with my magazines. How was your weekend? Have a fantastic week!

Remember Emily, the Super Intern at Vogue from the Hills?! Just spotted her on JakandJil. She created the blog Into the Gloss. It is pretty awesome.

Tea with Alice

Tea Break? Today I am having green tea with rose and violet...yummy!

One of my favorite movie directors is Tim Burton. I just love his passion for surrealism, humor and...Johnny Depp. This weekend I finally saw the long anticipated work Alice in Wonderland. Alice is a girl most of us have known since we were just little boys and girls.

The fairytale of Alice is of course an inspiration in fashion. Photographer Annie Leibovitz did a shoot for Vogue and I want to share a couple of her fabulous pictures and clothes that remind us of the little kid, having a tea party with Mad Hatter.
