Upgrade to winter

Happy Monday! Although the sun comes out occasionally and the temperature is not that low (10-15 degrees), my body needs more layers of clothes and extra care. It is time to prep for the winter. As a true tea addict, I went over my stock and noticed that my "warm" teas were missing. So this weekend I bought some of my favorites, pulled out my sweaters, upgraded my vitamin intake and took out my big scarves. What are your preparations for the winter?

Upgrade the cold

Happy Friday everyone! Hope your week was great. I am still fighting off a cold and hopefully my vitamin intake will soon kick in! It is still cold and the snow is turning greyish as it is not fresh anymore. Higher temperatures are coming (with that I mean getting towards 0 degrees)! My weekend is fully booked with this project I have been working on (will tell you more next week), so I will be having loads of fun with no time to get sick. Have a fabulous weekend!

All good things...

Happy Friday! We are still enjoying the beautiful whites outside, but it hasn't been snowing for two days. I really like having all the seasons for a little while. They all have something special. I like wearing layers, warm boots, preparing soups and drinking hot beverages. But after a while, I am ready for some sun, less clothes and a glowing skin (my skin really doesn't like winter). Happy Wednesday! We have been enjoying the snow for a couple of days now and I never get used to the cold that come along with it. I was prepared though and have warm feet, hands and even my face is covered from my big hood. Lots of tea is never boring to keep me warm.

Reflections

Happy Thursday! I am looking forward to a week not working, relaxing, meeting family & friends, enjoy food, lay on the couch, watch movies and read books (and magazines). I already have a number of (pre-)Christmas dinners to look back on and can´t wait for this weekends trip up north with my girlfriends. Top that with many naps during the day and I will be ready for what 2013 has to offer. What are you countdown activities?

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is near....I have to start work again on Sunday, luckily from home, but it means that I have less time to recharge the battery and have to relax starting from today! I read this article yesterday on how not to get sick during the winter time (any time for that matters) and it totally makes sense: down time is of the essence. So I am planning a nice lunch with my sister tomorrow and decided to leave the rest open...What do you do during your down time? Have a good weekend :)

Happy Thursday! Today at work, the heating decided to take a nap and in it really cold. So cold, my collegues and I decided to buy some computer gloves online (no joke, they are coming from Hong Kong any time soon!). I wish I was at home, in bed, with some sweet hot beverage....How would you cope with a cold office environment?

Happy Tuesday! The days seem to get shorter and the nights a little bit longer. It seems as though my hours at work fly by and I have more time to myself to do fun things (like online shopping, reading, cooking)...or is it just that I don´t wanna go out anymore?

Happy start of the workweek everyone! This weekend the weather was really terrible: it was cold, rainy and COLD! The positive side to this weather is having many cups of hot tea (and coffee), eating pancakes and lentil soups while cozying up on the couch with a candle and a good read (this is my current obsession). Future plans for this weather are movies and eating in (or out) with friends.My thoughts were also with the hurricane Sandy survivors and I hope everyone is coping and well. Hope you have a nice week with better weather than mine :).

Wet and cold...

Bedtime stories

Happy Friday everyone! Almost weekend! I am looking forward to relax and hang out in my bed as I have been walking around with a cold for a couple of days now (started the days after I came back from the sun and stepped into the cold). Happy Friday all! Almost weekend...can´t wait. It will be a busy one, prepping for my man´s birthday! It will be an intimate family celebration with loads of food, good music an laughter. As it will be snowing here, I am trying to have everything ready before I actually end up in a snow storm (ok maybe not storms, but you now shopping while snowing can be a hassle). But what isn´t a better way to celebrate than looking outside and seeing the snow, while inside having hot, yummy dishes and fun people around you?! Enjoy xoxo

Happy Thursday everyone! It is still below zero degrees in Amsterdam and the streets are less crowded as people are actually scared by the chilly wind outside. Inside, it is pretty cozy and fun and a good old drink will warm you up (this can be hot coco, tea, coffee, irish coffee...you name it). So I´m enjoying my drinks and avoid the streets :)
